Ben Steel ... November 23, 2008
Dear Aunty Loris & Family,

Sorry to hear about your terrible loss. So sudden. Unimaginable. The journey you all are now on must be so mixed and turbulent, but just like the ocean it will have moments and sometimes days of a magical calm. Life and indeed death is not a point from A to B, but rather a continuous adventure exploring every colour and depth of the alphabet.

We will miss you Uncle Noel, but we will never forget the joy, love, and laughs.

Parry Johns We haven't been in "TOUCH" for a while mate November 21, 2008

Dear Loris and Family,

I'm so sorry to hear such sad news. Please accept my sincere condolences.

I have attached a few photographs of Noel from his days giving his all to the Victorian Touch Football Association.

I’d like to take this opportunity to reflect on some of my times with Noel.

I have played many games of football with Noel and many against him, the things that always stood out, besides him being a great player were he was always, fair, friendly, happy, honest, a gentleman on and off the field and great fun to be around. I remember playing a season of touch with Noel, Gordon Abercrombie and a few other older blokes, they taught me heaps, at least that’s what they told me. We played great football together and had the best times. If ever Noel or Gordon got a break on the field they would turn to me and yell "hurry up I can't run much further" and then they would always make everyone feel so special when we scored a try, saying "That's the way ya do it".

Noel and I had a very special friendship, a friendship that I was proud of and one I will always remember fondly. We were both Queenslanders, both played in the local Brisbane BRL competition albeit at different times and for different Clubs. In 1978 we both represented Victoria in the states first ever inclusion in the National State titles held in Sydney.

Noel was secretary of the Victorian Touch Association in 1981, he wrote a regular article in the monthly magazine ”National Touching”. In May 1981 one month after the national titles in Queensland he wrote, “Although Victoria failed to win a major prize in the Johnson Wax National Championships our performance in the march past was SUPERB!”

From it’s inception the Victorian Touch Association would never of been so successful without Noel’s efforts, organizing and running the competition.

May your soul rest in peace, you were a very special person to so many people.

Parry Johns.

Peter, Connie & Adam You are all in our thoughts November 19, 2008

Dear Loris, Trav, Samantha, Josh, Ethan, Merryn and Vanessa

We just wanted to say how sorry we are for your loss.  We have not known Noel for very long, but in the short time we were able to see what a wonderful person and a devoted family man he was.

Personally, I will  remember the way he listened  to our music and the look of pride he had in his eyes as he watched Trav sing and play.  The fun we had with Johnny Cash is also a memory I will cherish.

We are here for you, if there is ever anything you need.

LOVE

Peter, Connie and Adam

Loris & Family,

Lorraine and myself are so sorry that we were unable to share with you the day on which Noel ascended into heaven.

I personally have known Noel since early childhood and throughout our school years and beyond. It is sad our paths took distances  away from each other. My most recent wemory of Noel was at a Villanova old boys dinner a couple of years ago.

Noel was a beaut bloke, wonderful friend and mate in the years we spent together.

I am sure he was a wonderful father and husband and will be sadly missed by all of you and all of his friends. Noel will always be rembered by both Lorraine and I in our prayers as will all of you.

Thank you for affording us the oppertunity to express our thoughts and condolences in this mannner.

Take care,

Ian & Lorraine

Margaret Bailey (White) Cousin November 16, 2008

I was very sad to hear of your passing.  As children we spent lots of happy times together at Grandmar White's 101 Pembroke Rd Coorparoo. We Bernard White girls were very pleased when the good looking Walter White boys would be there.

I know your Mum, my Aunty May will miss you so very much and of course your big brother Kevin.  Love to them both.

Once you went to Melbourne we lost touch except for our White Family reunions and so I did not get to know your Melbourne family very well, though at your funeral they seemed a great bunch and I am sure they will miss you heaps.   Lots of love and thoughts go to them all.

God Bless   Margaret Your Cousin.

I knew little of Noel (except as a very little kid at school at Toowong in the Lang Parade days, and then meeting up again at the White Family Reunions at Whites Hill)) but you are all in my thoughts as you gather to get used to your new reality without him.  My memories of his Dad, my Uncle Walter, makes it seem to me that he followed in his Father's footsteps with his ready smile and gentle caring nature.  So I'm thinking of you all from the distance of the Hawkesbury area (west of Sydney).

Gail White Sister-In-Law November 14, 2008
Hi Noely,
Just wanted to tell you what a great Brother-In-Law you have been to me.
Your funeral service was so special and your wake a testament to the esteem in which you are held by all.  Jemma told me how beautiful the laying of the wreath at Currumbin Alley was this morning, a peaceful farewell to a beautiful man in a beautiful place.
My only regret is that you couldn't physically share these moments with us, but I do know you were with us in spirit.
Vale Noel,
With so much love

Loris, Vanessa, Merryn & Trav,

I hope that the service did justice to your husband, and father.  Although you grieve now for the loss of Noel, take some comfort that you will always have memories of him & the times you shared.

Catherine Robinson Thinking of You & Your Family November 11, 2008

Dearest Merryn,

Just a note to let you (and your family) know I am thinking of you in your time of rememberance, disbelief and sense of unimaginable loss.

I can see how much this man was loved, what a wonderful testiment to his life.

No one knows how you feel at the moment. But know I am thinking of you Merryn.

I wanted to send you flowers, but didn't know if you would be going to queensland.

Merryn, my supportive thoughts are with you at the moment, and please let me know if there is absolutely anything I can ever do for you.

Lots and lots of love

Catherine Robinson
